SendGrid Configuration: API Keys & Integration with CommercePad

1. Creating a SendGrid API Key

Follow these steps to generate an API key in SendGrid:

Step 1: Access Settings

  • Log in to your SendGrid account.
  • From the left navigation bar, go to Settings → API Keys.

Step 2: Create a New Key

  • Click Create API Key.

Step 3: Name Your Key

  • Provide a clear, descriptive name for the key (e.g., CommercePad Newsletter).

Step 4: Select Access Level

Choose one of the following access levels:

  1. Full Access – Grants complete access to all features.
  2. Restricted Access – Allows you to specify selected permissions.
  3. Billing Access – Provides access to billing-related features only.

Step 5: Configure Permissions

  • If you selected Restricted or Billing Access, define the specific permissions for each category.

Step 6: Create the Key

  • Click Create & View to generate your API key.

Step 7: Secure Your Key

  • Copy the API key and store it securely.
  • ⚠️ Important: You will only see your API key once. If lost, you must create a new one.

📌 Note: Each account supports up to 100 API keys.

2. Editing or Deleting a SendGrid API Key

You may update or remove an existing key if needed:

Step 1: Access the Action Menu

  • Go to Settings → API Keys.
  • Click the action menu (⋮) next to the desired key.

Step 2: Modify the Key

  • Edit: Update the key’s name and permissions.
  • Delete: Permanently remove the key, making it inactive.

⚠️ Warning: Once deleted, a key cannot be restored. You must create a new one.

3. Adding SendGrid API Key in CommercePad

After creating your key, integrate it with your CommercePad platform:

Step 1: Access Admin Panel

  • Log in to your CommercePad Admin Panel.

Step 2: Expand Application Settings

  • From the left menu, expand Application Settings.

Step 3: Open Domain Configuration

  • Select Domain Configuration.

Step 4: Navigate to Newsletter Configuration

  • In the top menu, select Newsletter Configuration.

Step 5: Add or Edit Newsletter Configuration

  • Choose Add New or Edit an existing configuration.

Step 6: Enter API Key and Details

  • Paste your SendGrid API Key into the provided field.
  • Fill in any additional required details.
  • Save your changes.
